The Temple of Mithras was built in AD 240 on the banks of the river Walbrook, in the heart of the Roman City of London. Its remains were discovered in 1954 by renowned archaeologist Professor W.F. Grimes during the excavations following the Blitz.

Today, London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE returns the temple to the original location, seven meters below ground, in the heart of the City.

Situated on the site of Bloomberg’s European headquarters, this cultural hub showcases the ancient temple, a selection of the remarkable Roman artefacts found during the recent excavation, and a series of contemporary art commissions responding to one of the UK’s most significant archaeological sites.

When: This guided tour will take place on Wednesday 8 October 2025 at 17.00-17.45.

Where: The London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE, located at 12 Walbrook, London EC4N 8AA
